Conditions of the visits
The visit is guided and lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. For conservation reasons there is a maximum quota of 6 people per session. It is advisable to buy the ticket online, book by email or by phone days in advance. On the day you can only buy the ticket at the box office, if there is availability and order of arrival. In high season the cave is usually complete. The reservation or purchase must be validated at the box office at least 15 minutes before the start of the visit. In case of no-show, you will lose the right of the reservation. Once the ticket has been purchased online, the date and time of the visit cannot be modified, nor will the money be returned.
The Visitor Reception Center is located next to the soccer field, located at the entrance of Riclones from Las Herrerías. In the event that the pedestrian access road to the cavity is flooded by the Palombera reservoir, the visit will be canceled.
The pedestrian access to the cave is formed by a forest track and a pedestrian path, with some degree of difficulty in transit. Both sections are done on foot, in a time interval estimated at around 30 minutes. On rainy days it is possible to travel through sections of mud and water. The first 15 meters of travel through the interior of the cavity are made by crawling, due to the low height of this first section.
The cave lacks electrical installation for conservation reasons, the use of flashlights being necessary. It is mandatory to wear helmets and knee pads inside the cavity, which will be provided, as well as the flashlights by the guide at the beginning of the visit. During the same it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes that do not slip and warm clothes.
