FOR ALL THE PUBLIC

The activities are related to prehistory and are aimed at all audiences, especially families. These activities will take place in the Activities Room, located next to the cave El Castillo. Children under 14 years must be accompanied by an adult.

 

High Season:

From 19th July to 31th August. 

Maximum capacity per session: 20 people.

Approximate duration of each workshop: 50 minutes.

 “The First Graffiti”.

Tuesday to Friday: 10:30 am.

Did you know that the 78 hands in negative of El Castillo were not painted with blood, but with a red mineral called hematite? Discover the pigments and techniques used for the decoration of the caves of El Castillo and Las Monedas. A workshop that complements your visit to the two caves of Monte Castillo. Finally you will paint your hand in the same way as in El Castillo, leaving your imprint as they did at least 37,000 years ago, the clans that congregated in the mouth of this cavity.

“The Fire”

Tuesday to Friday: 11:30 am.

Do you know what life was like before the man knew the fire? What benefits and drawbacks did the knowledge originate? We invite you to go back in time through the stories that Munua will tell you before and after the discovery of fire. Will you be able to do it by the friction of two sticks or the percussion of stones ?, or that day you will have to eat the raw meat and face a long and cold glacial night, enduring the complaints of the rest of your clan.

“The Hunters of the Painting Caves”.

Tuesday to Friday: 12:30 am.

Surely you know that prehistoric man hunted with spears, but do you know that they used thrusters to be propelled? In this activity you will not only learn to make a propeller and a spear, but also use it and prove its effectiveness. Will you be able to hunt the deer and supply the clan that accompanies you with meat? Which of you will catch him?
